The Snow Queen - 06

The answer is D) Better than all the other anime below!

Daisuke no yuri!Gerda=child labour

Catching up with an episode of The Snow Queen (Jo-Oh no Yuki) is like catching up with an old friend - they'll never let you down and at the end of the day you can switch them off!
Gerda continues her harsh journey to find Kay. She bumps into a farmer and a prostitute hitching a ride on the back! I mean hard-done-by woman who offers Gerda shelter in her house in exchange for her 'services'. We all know what that means by now! Gerda rolls her sleeves back up to wash dishes and listens to another sob story. This woman called Anya lost her daughter Anna to some disease (which we'll never know) and her other daughter named Lynette has the same condition. She only has a few months to live and to pay for her medicine, Anya must toil day and night to make ends meet. Even this tragic tale would put a tear into the Snow Queen's eye - who was sadly lacking this episode!
Gerda packs up her things the next day to set out for the next town, but in her heart she knows she must help this family. Lynette adores her pea garden and hopes it will 'pop' in the Spring so that can she can to heaven. Then her mother won't need to work no more (aww..) But alas, Lynette takes fever, as her mother tells her that peas will never grow from her little pot. Gerda rushes out to the farmer to get some pea seeds and manages to get a few - as if they were like gold coins!

This image is rated 18+DEATH BECOMES HER..or not. :x

But yes it all ends happily, and yes I'm disappointed that Lynette did not die off. I forget that this isn't Vampire Princess Miyu ;) Another excellent episode, with enough drama and a hint of angst to tide me over until the next episode of Glass Mask appears!

Overall: 8/10

Will Gerda be offering her 'services' next episode? We'll just have to wait and see!
