Fighting Beauty Wulong - 01

Shounen Jump critera:
- Fanservice
- Fighting
- Fanservice

CHECK!

Do I look hentai enough for you, boys? :oThis stuff only happens in shounen jump style anime!

I wasn't expecting anything great judging by the title, but I have seen some decent fighting anime even with fanservice! Fighting Beauty Wulong however, fails on every account from this first episode!
Mao Lan is your typical bimbo airhead lead who has 1337 fighting abilities and happens not to take much interest in fighting. She lives with her pervy and of course typical drunken grandfather, who is the master of the Mao Kempo style - but these days he'd rather watch pr0n on TV and read girlie mags. One day, Mao Lan bumps into typical loser fanboy and saves his worthless life. In return loser fanboy begs Mao Lan to teach him some moves. Grandfather decides to let him live with them! How typically Shounen Jump!
Mao Lan shows off more of her bouncy cleavage and goes out for a walk to the local chainstore. Loser fanboy works there and gets beaten up by thugs. Mao Lan then takes the thugs outside and using the most 'diverse panty showing' moves, beats them up swiftly. How very unique!

Mao Lan needs to feel a breeze when fighting.

The next day, Mao Lan goes to school and nearly gets into another fight with a girl! When she returns home, she is living with Grandfather and Loser fanboy as well! They all discuss pointless stuff like a happy family. Mao Lan asks her grandfather to stop watching pr0n - although she is quite used to it by now - and they all proceed to watch some women's Ultimate Fighting Championship style fight. Mao Lan is so bored but grandfather tells her to stay, for at the end she is entered into the tournament without her permission!! zomg!!
The episode ends with a scraping of plot and confirms the shounen jump style with the next episode preview: 'I am sharing a room with loser fanboy? How embarassing..I can't be seen nekkid!!'

I'm another fighting schoolgirl. Go ME!About as good as it gets.

This is cliche fanservice crap that must be avoided at all costs! The fighting wasn't even that great to begin with - a few DBZ style dodging and ONE KICK to finish them off. I mean come on, when I want fighting, I expect some counters at least! The character designs reminded me of Air Master, but we know which is the superior series. The 'humour' itself is one which only a Bleach fan would find funny and even how much I tried to see past the barely clothed Mao Lan - there was no denying it's heritage.

Overall: 3/10

Only for those who like SJ gags and fanservice. But even I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!
